Guess which little big boy turned 4 today? We are so proud that Luca continues to fight against the odds and achieve so much. He continues to amaze us and it is so incredible to know such a loving, clever, sparky boy. We are so happy to have him as our son.
We have never regretted having him as ours, with all his complex needs. We are just sad that he is ill and that his life span is not expected to be long. He brings us so much joy and fulfilment, and he himself is happy - which is the most important to us. We will continue to fight for him as long as he needs us to...
Despite still dealing with an infection on his chest Luca has been coping better. Something we are grateful for. We took the opportunity for a family outing - something we haven't been able to do for a while. Weather still not being great we needed an inside option... so off to The Science Museum we went!
We have been with Luca a few times before, but this was the best trip yet because Luca is at such a great age for this type of outing. He was mesmerised particularly by the space section with the rockets, lunar lander and Apollo return module, and then by the section with planes. Lots of large objects hanging from the ceiling! - Perfect for Luca. We spent most of the trip in these sections since Luca made it very clear they were his favourite!
Some other exciting news is that after waiting for a few months, Luca's own Eye gaze computer arrived! Luca got to witness it being taken fresh out of the box. Not only has Sutton very generously provided Luca with this amazing piece of equipment that is opening so many doors for him, but they went a step further. They purchased him the larger 15" screen, plus a mount that allows the computer to be angled to accommodate his unusual positioning. We are so so grateful.
